  3. 3,117 strikeouts, 56 shutouts, and 
  4. a 2.91 ERA. He won two Cy Young
  5. awards (1968 and 1970), an MVP
  6. award (1968), and nine Gold
  7. Gloves (for his fielding). But he
  8. could hit, too! Over his career, Bob
  9. slugged 24 homers and put up a
  10. .206 batting average, which is not
  11. bad for a pitcher. In 1970, Bob
  12. batted .303 for the season, and 
  13. was even called on to be a pinch-
  14. hitter from time to time.
